Content Policy

Last updated: March 9, 2026

MkPage is built for creators, freelancers, and small businesses who want a standout bio page or landing page. We keep our rules simple: build something real, don't harm others, don't abuse the platform.

This policy supplements our Terms of Use. When in doubt, the Terms of Use control.

Prohibited Content

The following categories of content are prohibited on all sites built on MkPage, regardless of plan:

  • Unlawful content — anything that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law
  • Threatening or abusive content — content that harasses, intimidates, or threatens individuals or groups
  • Defamatory content — false statements of fact presented as true that damage another person's reputation
  • Privacy violations — publishing private personal information about others without consent (doxxing, unauthorized photos, etc.)
  • Intellectual property infringement — content that infringes on the copyrights, trademarks, or other IP rights of third parties
  • Phishing and credential harvesting — fake login pages, forms designed to collect credentials, or sites impersonating other brands or services
  • Malware distribution — sites that deliver or link to malicious software, scripts, or downloads
  • Pornographic content — see Adult Content section below
  • Content that facilitates illegal activity — including fraud, money laundering, sale of controlled substances, or circumvention of export controls

This list is illustrative, not exhaustive. We reserve the right to remove content that we determine to be harmful, abusive, or inconsistent with the spirit of this policy, even if not explicitly listed above.

Thin Affiliate and Spam Sites

MkPage does not permit sites created primarily to redirect visitors through affiliate links without providing genuine value. These are commonly called "thin affiliate sites."

A thin affiliate site typically has some or all of the following characteristics:

  • No original content — relies entirely on copied, scraped, or auto-generated text with no meaningful additions
  • Excessive affiliate links — the primary purpose of the page is to funnel clicks rather than inform or serve visitors
  • No real user value — provides no useful information, review, or context beyond the promotion itself
  • Automated or AI-generated spam — content produced at scale using automated tools or AI, with no editorial judgment or original value, for the sole purpose of gaming search or affiliate systems

Sites identified as thin affiliate pages may be taken offline without notice. We encourage users to build pages with genuine content that serves a real audience.

Note: Affiliate links are not inherently prohibited. If your site offers real content — a genuine review, a curated resource list, a personal recommendation — and happens to include affiliate links, that's fine. The issue is sites with no purpose other than the affiliate link itself.

Adult Content

MkPage does not permit pornographic content.

Exception for creators and artists: Adult-oriented artwork is permitted where:

  1. The site belongs to the artist or creator (e.g., as part of a portfolio or commission page), and
  2. The content does not depict illegal activity of any kind

Link-in-Bio and Outbound Links

Because MkPage is commonly used as a link-in-bio or directory page, you are responsible not only for content hosted on your MkPage site but also for the destinations you prominently link to. Sites that exist primarily to direct visitors to prohibited content hosted elsewhere are subject to the same enforcement as sites hosting that content directly.

AI-Generated Content

AI-generated content is not prohibited on MkPage. However, AI-generated sites that exist solely to produce spam, manipulate search rankings, or facilitate any prohibited activity described in this policy will be treated the same as any other policy-violating site.

Enforcement

How We Enforce This Policy

Sites may be taken offline due to:

  • A legal complaint from a third party (such as a copyright or trademark holder)
  • A manual action by our team after determining the site violates this policy or our Terms of Use
  • An automated action by our moderation systems

We reserve the right to act without prior notice when content poses an immediate legal risk or harm to others.

Appealing a Takedown

If your site was taken offline and you believe it was in error:

  1. Review this Content Policy and our Terms of Use
  2. Update your site to address any potential violations
  3. Email us at [email protected] with the subject line "Site Review Request" and include your site URL and a brief explanation

If we determine your site is in compliance — or that a moderation error was made — we will restore it promptly.

Reporting Violations

If you encounter a MkPage-hosted site that you believe violates this policy, please report it to [email protected] with the site URL and a brief description of the issue. We review all reports and will take appropriate action.

For copyright or trademark complaints, please follow the DMCA process described in our Terms of Use.
